If F1 25 has been crashing on your Radeon RX 9000 while path tracing is enabled, there’s a fix. AMD just dropped Adrenalin Edition 25.5.2 as an optional driver update—version 25.10.01.12, to be specific—and it’s all about stabilizing this new racing simulator.
The update isn’t WHQL certified (yet), but AMD released it early to tackle those frustrating path tracing crashes. This is also the first driver to officially support F1 25, so it’s worth grabbing if you’re planning to dive in.
Discord and FreeSync are still causing headaches
The patch doesn’t solve everything, though. AMD notes that if you’re using multiple monitors and streaming on Discord, you might see stutters or performance dips when alt-tabbing. FreeSync users on high-res setups could also run into system crashes, especially if you’re on the 9000 series.
AMD detailed what’s fixed and what is still bothering users in the official release notes:
Fixed:
- F1 25 crash when path tracing is enabled on Radeon RX 9000 GPUs.
Known issues:
- Stutters and lower performance during Discord streaming with multi-monitor setups.
- Crashes with FreeSync on multi-monitor high-res displays using RX 9000 cards.
Not to forget, there’s also a Ryzen AI NPU MCDM Driver (version 32.00.0203.258) bundled in. However, that’s more relevant if you’re on supported hardware with AI features.
You can download the driver directly from AMD’s official site. It supports Radeon RX 5000, 6000, 7000, and 9000 series cards. More recently, AMD defended the 8GB VRAM choice for the Radeon RX 9060 XT after backlash.
