Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Series X|S Release Date
That’s not all; it has also announced that the Black Myth: Wukong drops on Xbox Series X|S on August 20, 2025 — exactly one year after the game debuted on PlayStation 5 and PC.
For the initiated, the Black Myth: Wukong’s delay on Xbox sparked plenty of speculation. Originally, Game Science blamed technical hurdles on Xbox. Microsoft pushed back, hinting at a Sony exclusivity deal behind the scenes.

Today, Game Science clarified things again. In a document full of FAQs, there’s one specific question that many fans have asked, and finally, there’s an answer. Here’s what developer Game Science noted:
Q: Why did it take so long to bring the game to Xbox, and what can I expect now?
A: Bringing Black Myth: Wukong to Xbox Series X|S—and ensuring the experience met our internal quality standards—was no easy feat. Fortunately, we were able to complete this challenging task smoothly within the first year of the game’s official release.
If you’re an Xbox player who hasn’t tried Black Myth: Wukong yet, Game Science promises it “will stand among the finest ARPGs available on Xbox.”

After such a long wait, fans finally get to see what the hype is about on their console of choice. Pre-orders open June 18, and the studio is also running the game’s first sale that day — a 20% discount across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Store pre-orders.
