Surprise: Final Fantasy XVI is now live on Xbox. No countdowns, no build-up—just a full-on shadow drop during the Xbox Games Showcase. The Xbox launch includes Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, two DLC chapters that expand the story and add Leviathan as a new Eikon to command.
If you’ve never touched XVI, here’s what to expect: towering kaiju battles, some of the slickest real-time combat the series has ever had, and a main character, Clive Rosfield, who’s basically revenge incarnate. The story swings big, the voice acting is top-tier, and the boss fights? Total chaos—in the best way.
Square Enix and Xbox are clearly in sync again. After bringing Final Fantasy XIV to Xbox last year, they’re now following through on another big ask from fans. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade—yes, the enhanced edition with Yuffie’s DLC—is officially coming to Xbox this winter.
That means Xbox players are finally getting to catch up on some of the biggest single-player Final Fantasy titles that were missing from the ecosystem for years. With Play Anywhere support and cross-saves in place, you can pick up your story wherever you are.
